Bem-vindo

Welcome

Brazil – a country full of colours, rhythms and flavours. That’s exactly the feeling Baioca brings to Oldenburg in Holstein.

Every visit is like a little journey – from the tropical coast of Bahia through the mysterious forests of the Amazon to the wide plains of the south.

Brazilian cuisine thrives on contrasts: spicy and sweet, hearty and light, familiar and exotic. At Baioca all of this comes together – in freshly prepared dishes that combine tradition and modernity.

But Baioca is more than a place to eat. It’s a meeting place for everyone looking for something special: a space full of joie de vivre, hospitality and Brazilian ease. Cultures meet here, encounters happen here, Brazil comes alive here – right in the heart of Oldenburg.

The soul of Baioca

Meet Luana

Behind every plate there’s a story. Behind Baioca there’s Luana, the founder and host.

Growing up in Itamaraju in sunny Bahia, a region in the north-east of Brazil, she discovered her love of cooking early on. In her mother’s and grandmother’s kitchen she learned how to conjure up unmistakable dishes with fresh ingredients, spices and a lot of heart.

After many years in hospitality and as a flight attendant, Luana fulfilled her dream: a place where she can delight people with authentic Brazilian cuisine and the warmth of her home country. She carries her home within her – the warmth, the joy of sharing and the passion for good food. At Baioca she turns all of this into cooking that is honest, down-to-earth and full of heart.

Cooked with love

Moin, Brazil!

At Baioca we cook with love and largely without additives – just as tradition has it in Brazil. Our speciality is feijoada, Brazil’s national dish – a hearty bean stew that stands for community, enjoyment and joie de vivre.

We also serve fresh caipirinhas, exotic cocktails and a choice of vegan and vegetarian dishes. Baioca is a place to feel at home – for friends, families, holidaymakers and everyone who wants to taste, smell and feel Brazil.
